So you’re ready to give your kitchen an overall and upgrade your kitchen countertops. You’ve done your research and decided the type of solid surface you want for your countertops. Maybe you’ve picked some beautiful kitchen cabinets to transform your kitchen. Below we explain what’s involved, from start to finish, with countertops installation.
In-home evaluation and consultation
The first step is to discuss your remodeling project with an industry professional for guidance and so you can get an accurate estimate of what it would cost to have the work performed and how long it will take to have the project completed.
PRO-TOPS’ estimators and designers are ready to assist you with your kitchen remodeling and countertops installation project. We’ve remodeled many kitchens in the Charlotte area. Our many years of experience working with renowned builders and new home constructions have been instrumental in keeping us on the edge of kitchen trends.
Our in-home evaluations and estimates are free. We don’t pressure-sell. Rather, we listen to better understand our customers’ needs and do our best to provide solutions that are a good fit.
Selecting Your Countertop Material and Color
The type of material, color and edge profile you select for your countertops will affect the cost of your remodeling project. We strongly recommend for you to make arrangements to come and visit our showroom to look at samples. We have a large inventory of slabs at our location from which you can choose to have your countertops made of. We also have designers on staff who can help you compare and select materials, levels, colors, edge profiles and sinks for your kitchen remodeling project.
If you decide to come to our showroom, we encourage you to bring a cabinet drawer, kitchen cabinet door, paint swatch from your home and sample of your flooring material to make it easier to match your countertops.
In the event that we do not have a color in stock that match what you are looking for, we will put in touch with one of our local suppliers who warehouse hundreds of slabs.
Fabricating your kitchen countertops
Before PRO-TOPS starts fabricating your kitchen countertops from the slab you selected, PRO-TOPS will schedule a time for one of our crew to come to your residence and make a template of your countertops which will help PRO-TOPS with the fabrication process.
For most kitchen countertops, an entire slab is required to have enough material to complete the project. For vanity tops, we may be able to find a remnant piece that would fit your countertop.
The lead time required for fabrication and installation of your countertops is about 5 business days (unless it takes longer to receive the slab you selected). PRO-TOPS will arrange a convenient time for the installation of your countertops.
Installing your kitchen countertops
The day you are scheduled to have your countertops installed, we ask that you clear out everything from your existing kitchen countertops prior to PRO-TOPS arrival at your residence.
We also ask that you protect or take away anything that is fragile and could break during the installation process. For all installations, we request that you or an adult family member be present. At the time of installation, the second half of your total job cost is due. Once the project is completed to your satisfaction, all debris and your old kitchen countertops will be removed from your property.
